You are Complete in Him

Verse of the Day: “O God, you are my God- for you I long! For you my body yearns; for you my soul thirsts, Like a land parched, lifeless, and without water. So I look to you in the sanctuary to see your power and glory. For your love is better than life; my lips offer you worship”- Psalm 63: 2-4

In today’s culture everyone, especially teenagers, are looking for fulfillment in all the wrong places. People think that if they get straight A’s, get a boyfriend/girlfriend, become captain of their sports team, then they will be happy and they will feel fulfilled. Well here is a news flash for all those people THOSE THINGS WILL NOT SATISFY YOU. If you are under the impression that worldly things will satisfy you, your life will be an endless loop of disappointment.

I used to think that if I got good grades, participated in activities, and had lots of friends I would be joyful. So when I got to high school I did just that, I joined many clubs, got involved with theatre and had stellar grades. Those things brought me temporary happiness and I was ok with that at the time because I didn’t know that God didn’t just want me to be happy for now, but eternally joyful. Now that I know how much joy Jesus brings into my life I want to share that with everyone. Why settle for a temporary happiness when God has eternal Joy planned for you! My heart overflows with love for Christ and His heart overflows with love for me, as does his heart for all of you. You are precious and perfect in the eyes of the Lord. He makes no mistakes and wants us to know that!

 The Verse of the day expresses perfectly our innate longing for love and eternal fulfillment of our hearts, “for you my body yearns; for you my soul thirsts” We crave eternal love and eternal joy, the only way that we can fulfill this desire we have in our hearts for eternal love is with Jesus, because only He can provide for the longing we have. 

Challenge of the Day: You know you are loved by Jesus, now share that love with someone else.
