An Invitation
Verse of the Day: “As he was walking by the sea of Galilee,
he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting
a net into the sea; they were fishermen. He said to them, “Come after me, and I
will make you fishers of men” At once they left their nets and followed him” –
Matthew 4: 19-20
In today’s verse of the day Jesus invites Peter and Andrew
to follow him. This is the same way that he invites us every single day. Jesus
longs for you, all he wants is for you to build a relationship with you because
he loves you. Will you answer his call today?
You might be asking yourselves, “Ok, I do want more Jesus
this Lent, but how am I supposed to do this?” To this my response is easy,
PRAYER. If we want to build a relationship with someone we talk to them, this
is exactly what we should do with Jesus as well. Sit down somewhere quiet and
talk to Jesus. Tell him how your day is going, what your feeling, any thing you
have on your heart just lift it up to him.
Take the time during this Lenten season to accept Jesus’
invitation. Let him work in your life. If you open the door of your heart to
him just one crack he will bust the door of your heart open and shower you with
so many blessings. Make it your mission this Lent to fall in love with him a
little more each and every day
Challenge of the Day: Open up your bible to the gospel of Matthew and start reading.
