Finding time for Jesus
Y'all have said it, I have said it.
"I'm just really busy, I don't have time to pray"
This is the biggest fattest lie that the devil wants you to believe, no one I repeat no one is too busy for Jesus. If you are, you need to reevaluate your life and priorities. I personally have found myself in confession saying time and time again, I don't spend enough time in prayer. Because of this I have come up with a few ways that have helped me and I hope will help all of you spend more time with Jesus
1) Put away social media I don't know about all of you but I had a really bad habit of having the first thing I did when I got up and the last thing I did before I went to bed was grabbing my phone and checking my social media accounts. This just zaps your time away and is really unnecessary. Instead try to wake up and start your morning with Jesus and ending them with Jesus.
2) Read a daily devotional This is my personal favorite way to start my morning I wake up say a prayer and read my devotional. I love reading Blessed is She because it includes the daily readings and a reflection. It's not long so it only takes a few minuets of the morning so I start my day in the right direction
3) Start a prayer Journal I LOVE Journaling, it's one of my favorite things to do. It is part of my night routine. I get into my bed and do some bible study and journal. The way I journal is different half of it is my bible/ book study and the other half is me telling Jesus about my day, like writing a letter to him. I just feel like it is so special because it is something only he and I see and share.
4) Go to Adoration Sometimes you just need quiet time in front of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. It is amazing how Jesus speaks into your heart when you are in the quiet and willing to listen. Adoration is the perfect escape from your crazy daily life
5) Go to daily Mass Daily Mass changed my life, I started going to daily mass last summer with my friend and it completely transformed me! I love going to morning mass because it just starts my day off perfectly and I feel prepared to take on my day after receiving Jesus in the Eucharist.
6) Take a walk I love nature. Nature is one of the things that I can see Christ in so clearly. Any time I am outdoors and It is a beautiful day I can''t help but be overwhelmed with Joy at the beauty of the world that God created. I love going on walks and just enjoying the earth that the Lord gave us. I often take that time alone to pray as I walk and just tell Jesus everything I have on my heart that day.
7) Pray a decade of the Rosary The idea of praying a whole rosary can be overwhelming one way to ease your way into praying the rosary is praying a couple of decades throughout the day, this was a tip one of my friends gave me and I couldn't believe I had never done this before. Praying a decade while your at school or work just refocuses your day and centers you on Christ and Mama Mary is always willing to pray for us
8) Have a prayer partner Prayer partners are a great way to keep you accountable, they can ask you how your relationship with God is going and they can be a prayer warrior in your life. It's awesome to know someone is praying for you and it's great to pray for others as well.
